Waitress At Cranston Pizza Shop Gets $810 Tip

CRANSTON, RI — A server at a Cranston pizza shop got served a slice of kindness when she needed it most in the form of a $810 tip.

Jennifer Vernancio, of North Providence, is a waitress at The Big Cheese & Pub on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston. She's the single mother of a 16 year-old and also has her hands full with her 3-year-old son.

Vernancio told NBC 10 it's been difficult finding the time to take care of her children while also earning the income to provide for them.

"It’s been difficult. However, The Big Cheese works with us no matter what with my schedule," she told the television station. "My son can’t be around sick kids when it comes to day care and when I can’t get a sitter they say, 'OK, well when you get a sitter, come in.' Or they give me another shift to make up for the one I missed. They're super accommodating."
