Winning $50,000 PowerBall Ticket Sold in Cranston

The ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven on Reservoir Avenue and has yet to be claimed.

CRANSTON, RI—Check that lottery ticket—it could be a $50,000 winner.

The Rhode Island Lottery Commission said Monday that a winning $50,000 PowerBall ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Saturday night's drawing. The ticket, sold at the 7-Eleven on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston, has yet to be claimed.

Wednesday's estimated PowerBall jackpot is $222 million.

The lottery commission also said on Monday that a Woonsocket man is heading west to visit his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren after winning $35,000 with a "Wheel of Fortune" lottery ticket recently.

The commission said that the man, who asked to remain anonymous, claimed the price and told lottery officials that he was using the money to go west to visit his family.

Some of his family members haven't been seen in some time. Also, he said, the trip is a chance to meet new great grandchildren he has yet to meet.

The ticket was purchased at Convenience Store at 260 Logee St. in Woonsocket.
