Crompton Road Break-In Suspect Arrested after Fleeing into Woods
Police said the man led police on a chase after he ran from officers who saw him walking with a bag near the break-in.

A man who broke into a house on Crompton Road on Friday was arrested after he fled from police on foot and was eventually caught by Coventry police.
Police told WPRI that Gary Fontes, 44, is being charged with breaking and entering, obstruction and receiving stolen goods.
Police said Fontes was seen walking in the area after the break-in was reported while carrying a bag.

Fontes dropped the bag and ran into the nearby woods and managed to elude police for a short time.
Police from Coventry, West Greenwich, West Warwick, Warwick and state police joined a search effort and he was eventually arrested by Coventry police.

Police said the bag had items from a different break-in that occurred in West Warwick.
The incident remains under investigation.
