Dear Patch,

I wanted to share with you that the boys soccer team supported 24 families in EG this Saturday during an all day volunteer outreach day.

Our goal was to raise $500 for the American Cancer Society in memory of Neil Fachon. Neil was an EGHS student and member of the soccer team , who passed away in 2016 from a Brain tumor.

Neil’s parents participated in the event and 4 players did yard work at their home. Eamon Keenan, co-captain of the team who organized the event, invited the Fachon ‘s to the Soccer luncheon and they were able to spend time with the entire team.

I am truly so proud of the players. They represented their team, school and parents remarkably well.

The activity was an opportunity for the players to give back to the EG community and honor an EG student and soccer player.

Players raked, split wood, shoveled gravel, painted a tree house, stacked boxes and stained an entire deck ! Additionally, players also took time to clean the entire parameter of the parking lot and field at the high school

I truly believe each player has gained something from this activity. Lastly, they exceeded their goal and earned $2150 in donations !! This money will be donated to the American Cancer Society by the EGHS boys soccer team on behalf of Neil Fachon. I hope you feel great pride in these boys as I do.
