EG Boys U-15 LAX Team Captures State Championship
This was the boys' fourth state championship in a row.

Congratulations to the East Greenwich Boys U-15 Competitive team for winning the 2013 RI Youth Lacrosse League State Championship! They completed their undefeated season by beating East Bay Lacrosse 11-6 in last Sunday’s championship game. The East Bay team (comprised of players from Barrington, Tiverton, Warren and Bristol) had only lost to East Greenwich during the regular season. The EG boys advanced to the championship game by beating Portsmouth 8-1 in the semi-final game.
“This is a special group of boys with some great athletes and talented lacrosse players," said Coach Jeff Jordan. "For many of the team members this is their 4th State Championship in a row. That is not an easy accomplishment as every program in the state wanted to beat them. After losing 11 players from our 2012 Championship team we had some work to do and holes to fill. The core of this group, however, is very strong and kept things together. I knew right from the start in a pre-season tournament down in Connecticut that this could be another special year when they finished beyond our expectations by tying West Islip, N.Y., and beating Duxbury, Mass., two top programs in the Northeast that feed into nationally-ranked high school lacrosse teams. I am very proud of this team’s accomplishments and look forward to watching these players in high school.”
