Goddard Park Farmers Market: The market at Goddard Park is back. It’s a great way to get ready for the weekend. Off Ives Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Donut Day is TODAY: Allie's Donuts is offering a free donut and Dunkin’ Donuts nationwide are offering a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage. (I made a mistake … thought it was yesterday! Sorry if I led any of you astray... )

Story Hour at Symposium Books: Children (and their adults) are invited to Story Hour at Symposium Books . Every week they pick a new story and read it to the kids with animal crackers and fun. Favorite stories are "No Matter What" and "Jungle Explorer." Come early and help pick the story, and better yet, there is a 10 percent additional discount on everything in the store during story hour! 11:30 a.m.

Multi-family yard sale: A multi-family yard sale with tons of baby/kid stuff; lots of toys, furniture, household items and appliances … a little bit of everything. Rain date is Sunday. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

‘Aladdin Jr.’: Our Lady of Mercy School in partnership with Rhode Island Youth Theatre proudly present this year, our 12th production, ‘Aladdin Jr.’ Performances are at 7 p.m. and  Sunday at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10, available at the door.
