Marjorie Ball Opening at EG Free Library: Marjorie Ball, one of East Greenwich’s most talented resident painters, has a show at the EG Free Library this month and the opening is Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. “Local Landscapes” offers familiar scenes cast through a special lens. Come and meet Margie and see some of her great works.

R.I. Children’s Chorus auditions: The Rhode Island Children’s Chorus, a music education and performance ensemble for children, will hold auditions for new members for the fall season today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Church, 99 Peirce St. Boys and girls ages 7 to 16 years old are welcome. No prior singing experience or appointment is necessary.
