Grief Support: Christ Church offers a Grief Support Group every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., 61 Cedar Avenue.

'Girls on the Run' sign ups: Registration is now open for Girls on the Run in East Greenwich. The mission of GOTRRI is to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.” Read about the program here, or check out their website. This spring, there are two programs in East Greenwich open to girls in grades 3-5:  Rocky Hill School: Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30-4:45, starts March 5th (no sessions 3/12, 14, 19, 21), and Meadowbrook Elementary: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:30-4:45, starts March 11th (no sessions 4/15+17, 5/27). Click on the name of the school above for the program you want to register for.

Water Street closed: Water Street at the Barbara Tuft's Playground (Lion Street) will be closed 24 hours a day for approximately 3 more weeks. No traffic will be able to pass because of the vertical trench sheeting that will be in the road. This construction is to replace the 90-year-old sewer main from the bottom of King Street to the Waste Water Treatment Facility. On Monday …

Town Council meeting: The Council will meet with EG’s state legislators and the EG Fire District to discuss the merger of the Fire District with the Town of East Greenwich, as well as other legislation affecting the town. The meeting takes place at Swift Community Center starting at 7 p.m.

Shred-A-Thon at Warwick Mall: Attorney General Kilmartin will kick off the week-long series of shred-a-thons on Monday at the Warwick Mall from noon to 2 p.m. (a complete schedule of events are listed here).
National Consumer Protection Week, March 4-9, 2013, is a coordinated campaign to encourage consumers nationwide to take full advantage of their consumer rights and to make better-informed decisions. This year, the Attorney General is again partnering with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank in asking the public to bring a non-perishable food item when they drop off their documents.

School Committee meeting: The agenda includes adoption of the 2013-14 budget (which you can read about here) and discussion of the 2013-14 graduation requirements.

Do you have a disabled child? EGSD is partnering with R.I. Parent Information Network (RIPIN) to provide leadership training to parents of students with disabilities specifically as it relates to the roles and responsibilities of our Local Advisory Committee on Special Education (LAC). There will be an informational meeting with Deb Belanger from RIPIN Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the library at East Greenwich High School.
