Five Things: Pumpkins, Bells, Pets

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Oct. 28.

Pumpkin sale for a good cause: That pumpkin patch in front of the EG United Methodist Church on South County Trail isn’t just a joyful scene (those it is that in spades!). Proceeds will benefit Janice Wray and her family. Wray, an East Greenwich resident and URI nursing student, suffered serious injury in a car accident in April which left her paralyzed and in a wheelchair. The stand is 11 to 5 p.m.

Main Street Music Guitar Exhibition: Main Street Music is proud to announce the first annual Main Street Music Fall Guitar Exhibition, a display of some of the area's finest electric guitars and acoustic instruments. Join them at Main Street Music, 4 King St., today.  Prizes will be awarded in categories including Excellence in Design, Craftsman's Award, and Best Presentation.  A cash prize will go to Best in Show. The instruments will remain on display at Main Street Music under lock and key for the weekend.

Adopt-A-Pet Open House: Animals are available for viewing and adoption today with the assistance of a dedicated East Greenwich Animal Protection League member. The open house takes place at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Individual appointments are also available.

Grief Support: This group meets in the Christ Church office condo on Sunday afternoons and is for anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Each week there is a video which covers different topics pertinent to those who are grieving. Following the video there is time to discuss the contents with others in the group. Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. It is a safe and welcoming environment. For more information, contact the church at 884-8632.

Halloween & All Saints Concert at St. Luke's: Celebrate Halloween with music. The Jubilate Ringers bell choir and the choirs of St. Luke’s will perform in costume at the church, 99 Peirce St. All are welcome. Bring a non-perishable food item for local food pantries. Looking ahead ...
