Harbourside Lobstermania? Not Anymore. It's Now Finn's Harbourside
Change – not a lot, the owner promises – comes to the iconic East Greenwich restaurant.

Harbourside Lobstermania is dead. Long live Finn's Harbourside.
The Town Council approved the transfer of the restaurant's victualing and liquor licenses from Jerry Fain to the East Greenwich Restaurant Group, otherwise known as Mark and Carol Finn, longtime owners of the property. Fain was one of the original founders of Harbourside Lobstermania, which was founded in 1971.
The sign with the lobster tipping his hat and holding a stick is gone. In its place is a more dignified sign perhaps, but one that may take getting used to for local patrons.

"You're not nearly as mad as the five or six birds that were living behind there," joked Mark Finn about removal of the lobster sign. "They're still sitting on the ledge there now."
As for the restaurant itself, Finn said nearly all of the staff would be returning, including manager Frank McCarthy.

Finn said the restaurant would continue to focus on seafood, but would be adding more salad choices and wraps, among other offerings. But, he told the council, "we aren't reinventing the wheel."
They also plan to continue to offer live outdoor music. That will require an amplified music permit from the police.
Finn said they hope to be open by Friday, May 3.
