Local EG Chef Featured On Rhode Show – Again!

The chef, Isaac Carlson, just happens to be a seventh grader at Cole Middle School.

For his appearance on The Rhode Show in February, Chef Isaac Carlson of East Greenwich decided to make something he's made for years, a staple, if you will, of his repertoire: homemade pasta with asparagus.

He says homemade pasta is easy to make, but let's face it, most of us would be daunted by the task. So it's all the more remarkable that the Chef Isaac is only 12 years old, a seventh grader at Cole Middle School, and this was his second time cooking on The Rhode Show.

Isaac loves cooking and was featured last summer preparing trail mix, part of an effort to highlight healthy snacks for kids. Homemade pasta with asparagus definitely took it up a notch, with a recipe that would make all ages happy.

He takes his ability and star-turns in stride.

"I was brought up in the kitchen and pasta is always something I've made," he said recently. TV can be difficult, he admitted.

"You’re afraid to not say the right thing at the right time," he said. "It’s all a bit nerve wracking, but it’s fun."
