Niall Horan, Won't You Take Layne To The Prom?

Ok, I thought we'd covered the "prom ask." But across the Twittersphere Monday night came a plea from an EGHS student asking me check out his friend Layne's video asking Niall Horan of the group One Direction be her prom date.

With the prom less than three weeks away, EGHS junior Layne Burke recently found herself dateless, after an unfortunate disciplinary action left her date unable to attend. Taking her cue from Jake Davidson, a California high schooler who asked supermodel Kate Upton to his prom via Youtube video, she decided to ask Niall Horan.

With the help of several friends, Burke shot the video in about six hours over three days, to the Blondie song, One Way Or Another – a homage to One Direction's own version for charity put out in February. 

"The five of us would take turns filming with the camera I've had a long time," said Burke. Layne's costars: Jackie DeFusco, Kim Whittaker, Veronica Comito, and Samantha Ferrucci, with help from Carolyn Corrigan.

What can I say? It's adorable. Niall, I think you should take Layne up on her invitation. The prom is May 17.
