Obituary: Ruth Girasole, 92

Ruth Girasole, age 92, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 6.

Ruth was the 10th child of Manuel and Emily Medeiros of Rehoboth, MA. She and her late husband of 53 years, Victor C. Girasole owned and operated Standard Electric Services of Cranston from 1944 to 1993.

Ruth was the mother of Dr. Robert V. Girasole and his wife Mary Claire Girasole of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Grandmother of Tracy Lynne Miner and her husband Peter of Saunderstown, RI and Dr. Christopher R. Girasole and his wife Jennifer of Bedford, NH. Great Grandmother of Abigail and Grace Miner and Avery and Violet Girasole.

Ruth lived a life of hard work in pursuit of excellence in all things. She was a woman of keen intellect, mischievous humor and tremendous energy devoted primarily to the love, safety, and security of her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 10th at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third Street, East Greenwich. Visitation prior to the mass from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main Street, East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to De LaSalle Academy, 332 West 43rd Street, NY, NY 10036.
