11:21 a.m. – Police arrested Albert Ballou, 26, of Marlborough Street on a warrant after they came upon a toddler clothed only in a soiled diaper at the bottom of the municipal parking lot between Main and Marlborough streets. A neighbor told police where the child lived. When police arrived, no one answered the door so police opened the unlocked door and announced themselves. A woman eventually came out. She told police she was alone in the apartment with her two children. Police found the second child, also a toddler, crying in a bedroom, then found Ballou, the father of the two children, hiding in a closet. Routine checks turned up the warrant so police took Ballou into custody. Because the apartment was in “total disarray,” according to the report, police contacted the juvenile division.

2:21 p.m. – Employees of a medical office at 1351 South County Trail called police because a family member became irate when told his son would have to seek treatment elsewhere. By law, a doctor must continue to treat a patient for 30 days after a patient receives a letter saying the doctor won’t be treating him anymore. That letter was just being sent out, so the patient would need to return to the doctor one more time. Police told the doctor to notify the department when the appointment takes place.
5:30 p.m. – Police had three cars towed that were parked illegally in front of 88 King Street and one car towed parked illegally on Long Street.
