12:28 a.m. – Police arrested Michelle Weinberg, 45, of Frenchtown Road, for driving while in intoxicated and refusing to take a chemical breath test, after she was pulled over because she’d almost hit a police car on Division Street. Because she smelled of alcohol, police asked if she’d been drinking. She said yes, at Fat Belly’s. She was taken into custody after failing the field sobriety test. At the station, she refused the breath test. She was issued a court summons and released.
9:51 a.m. – The owner of L & S Automotive on Post Road reported the theft of a car inspection sticker. He said he’d received a series of stickers on Feb. 1 and kept them in a drawer of the inspection machine that is usually kept locked. He told police he did not suspect his employees of the theft.
5:34 p.m. – An employee of Cracker Barrel restaurant on Center of New England Boulevard told police his bike had been stolen while he was inside at work. He said it had been locked to a telephone pole behind the restaurant but when he went out at 5 p.m., it was gone, along with the cable and combination lock he’d used to secure it. He said the mountain bike was worth about $130.
7:52 p.m. – Police arrested Robert A. Maloof, 29, of Fifth Avenue, of two counts of vandalism, and one count each of disorderly conduct, obstructing police, and resisting arrest, after his landlord reported Maloof had thrown a microwave oven through his kitchen window. Police got to the house and found Maloof lying face up in the yard. He appeared to be very drunk, had several cuts on both hands, was bleeding and didn’t respond to police questions. When his girlfriend attempted to talk to him, however, Maloof became irate. As police attempted to take the girlfriend away, Maloof got up and tried to fight with the police. They managed to get him in handcuffs after using pepper spray, but he continued to be aggressive after EGFD Rescue arrived and were trying to rid Maloof’s face of the pepper spray residue. Eventually, they got him into the patrol car and took him to the station for processing. An additional officer examined the kitchen and found drops of blood, window blinds on the floor and a smashed potted plant, among other broken items.

1:28 a.m. – Police arrested Jasmine T. Horta, 27, of Castle Street, for obstructing police and resisting arrest after she was involved in a car accident on Division Road. According to a Division Road resident, a car in which Horta was a passenger hit a parked car in the resident’s driveway and the driver fled the scene. Horta apparently tried to flee but was unsuccessful. When police arrived, Horta told them to go away. She appeared to be very drunk and refused to cooperate. When police went to get her out of the car, Horta resisted, kicking and swinging her arms. They got her in handcuffs and put her in the police car but enroute, Horta pulled out of the cuffs. Once at the station, she refused to get out of the car and again resorted to kicking her legs and flailing her arms. Even once in a cell, Horta continued to behave belligerently and declined several offers for a phone call. Police gave her a court summons and decided to have EGFD Rescue take her to Kent for an evaluation. She resisted again and had to be physically placed in the rescue truck for transport.
4:08 p.m. – A Hill Drive resident said she found a bunch of empty beer cans and drinking cups in the woods behind her house. She said she hadn’t heard any party taking place there and the cans looked like they’d been there a while but wanted to file a report to avoid further instances of this kind. A little while later, she called police back to say she’d found multiple cigarette lighters and a broken marijuana pipe in her backyard.
8:56 p.m. – A Stone Ridge Drive resident complained about a neighbor’s barking dog, the eighth such call police have received about that particular dog. Police found the dog in the driveway when they drove up. No one answered the door but police found a dog door and were able to get the dog inside that way. The neighbor said it had been a while since she’d complained but that it was an ongoing problem and that the dog’s owners are away a lot, leaving the dog outside and that it barks continually when they are away. Police send a copy of the report to the animal control officer.
