Power Back, Schools To Reopen Thursday
The planned Nov. 1 day off for teacher conferences and in-service training is cancelled.

After three days off because of power outages caused by super-storm Sandy on Monday, the East Greenwich Public Schools will reopen Thursday.
Supt. Victor Mercurio made the annoucement just after 6 p.m. Wednesday night.Â
The school calendar had originally scheduled a day off for Thursday, Nov. 1 – for parent-teacher conferences at the elementary schools and in-service training for teachers at Cole and EGHS.

But in light of the three unplanned days off, Mercurio announced Tuesday that Thursday would be a regular school day if power came back on.
