According to the police statement, Constanza approached EGHS Asst. Principal Tim Chace and reported finding an item of concern in a boy’s restroom. Chace then entered the restroom, where he saw a black handgun on the floor. He called the EG Police Department’s school resource officer to the restroom, who identified the weapon as a .45 caliber replica BB gun, which was not loaded.
Â
"Through investigation it was determined that weapon actually belonged to Costanza and that he had brought it to the school," the statement read.
