Here are five things to know about today in East Providence:

  1. A chance of afternoon showers with a high temperature in the mid 70s.
  2. The East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce teams up with Evergreen House Health Center, Gilmore’s Flower Shop and Cozy Caterers for a free networking soiree/business after hours at Evergreen House, 1 Evergreen Drive, starting at 5:30 pm.
  3. The East Providence City Council meets at 7:30 pm in the Council Chamber in City Hall.
  4. Drop in on the Knit and Crochet Club with Lurene Sorogheye at Weaver Library at 6:30 pm. Enjoy sitting, talking, laughing, and knitting with others!
  5. Newman Congregational Church, 100 Newman Ave., Rumford, host an AA meeting at 8 pm in the chapel.
