The youth admitted to burglarizing the two homes in May, according to the arrest report.

During the two burglaries, police said, he allegedly stole a laptop computer, a camera, a laptop bag, a collection of coins from Germany, Austria and Hungary, another bucket of coins, and two rings. Total value of his loot came to several thousand dollars.

Police said the boy pawned the two rings at a Brockton, Mass., pawn shop for about $50 each. He converted the bucket of change into cash at a coin machine at the Shaw’s supermarket on Taunton Avenue.

The teen apparently roamed around looking for homes that appeared unoccupied before he went to work. He crawled through unlocked windows to enter the properties and ransack the homes.

Police said they got a description of the boy from people who observed him near the two homes. He will be arraigned in District Court.
