Catherine Mulholland, 88, Retired Medical Worker

Catherine Mulholland, formerly of Nimitz Road, died August 20, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was 88.

She was the wife of the late Edward F. Mulholland and the late Francis R. Hempel. Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Goswell) Bonang.

Catherine worked as a storekeeper and order processor for the US Air Corps during WWII. After the war she worked as a dental assistant and worked as a Unit Manager at RI Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 1986.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Russell Oakland and son-in-law Jeffrey Oakland of Cumberland, her grandchildren Colleen Russell and James H. Russell III and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lloyd V. Bonang and John F. Bonang.

Her funeral will begin on Friday at 8 am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9 AM in St. Margaret's Church 1098 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. Burial will be at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be Thursday 6-8PM.
