Crews Put Out House Fire: Wampanoag Trail
A house and brush ignited in a smoky fire in East Providence on Wednesday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—The smoke could be seen for miles. Twitter was abuzz with photos of the smoke as it wafted over Thurbers Avenue, and Cranston and Warwick. A fire in a vacant house on the Wampanoag Trail was the source. The East Providence Fire Department confirmed the fire had been put out Wednesday night. However, the battalion chief was not available for comment.
