Duarte M. Borges, 61, Born in Sao Miguel, Azores
His calling hours are Thursday and his funeral is Friday from Rebello Funeral Home in East Providence.
Duarte M. Borges, of Sheridan Ave., Rumford, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice. He was 61.
He ws the beloved husband of Maria Evelina (Santos) Borges. Born March 23, 1952, in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Manuel and Maria Conceicao (Medeiros) Borges.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, he leaves his three children, Tammy Ann Tarsagian and her husband Warren of West Warwick, Kevin Duarte Borges of Rumford, and Matthew Paul Borges also of Rumford; four grandchildren, Andrew William, Matthew Paul Jr., Ava Isabella and Leah Elisabeth.
He was the brother of Maria Couto, Jose Borges and Elvira Canejo all of East Providence, Delores Cardosa of Cranston, Arlindo Borges of Foster, John Borges and Eduarda Medina both of East Providence and the late Manuel Borges. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
His funeral will begin Friday at 8:45 am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, 4-8pm.
