Helder S. Melo, 81, Retired Machinist

Helder S. Melo, of Jenks Street, East Providence, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was 81.

He was the husband of Maria E. (Goulart) Melo. Born in Pico, Azores, he was a son of the late Luciano S. Melo and Maria A. (Hilario) Mello. 

Melo was a machine operator for the Okonite Company before retiring. His funeral will be held today at 8 am from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 am from St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street.
