Holiday Rubbish Schedule - All holidays with the exception of (Presidents Day) will result in a one day delay in Rubbish, Recycling and Yard Waste (in season) collections for the remainder of the week. That means the schedule will be delayed one day staring Thursday.
Christmas Party - The Metacomet Country Club is hosting a Christmas party for smaller businesses and groups Dec. 21, 6 to 11 p.m. at the club, 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway. Cost to attend is $39.99 plus tax. Call 401-438-1122, ext. 101 to make reservations.
Animal charity taking donations - The East Providence Volunteer Services for Animals is always in need of a helping hand or donation. In the last three months, the organization racked up about $10,000 worth of veterinary bills. Giving Tree - To help make the holidays brighter for children in need, BankRI has partnered with 12 local non-profits to provide gifts for the less fortunate this holiday season. Gifts collected at the Bank’s East Providence branches at 999 S Broadway and 195 Taunton Ave. will benefit East Bay Community Action Program, while gifts collected in Woonsocket will help Connecting for Children & Families.
