'Home Alone' Safety Class Offered In East Providence
This three-hour course is recommended for children ages 10 to 13 years old.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The East Providence Recreation Department is getting ready to host a "home alone" safety class geared toward kids. The three-hour course is recommended for children ages 10 to 13 years old. It will cover general safety tips, cyber bullying, internet safety, telephone and fire safety, elements of first aid and steps to take in case of an emergency.
The class will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the East Providence Recreation Center at 610 Waterman Ave.
Course material will be reinforced through role play, games and group discussion, according to city officials. This will be an interactive class taught by Catherine Alexander, of Mobil Medical Training. The goal is teaching critical thinking skills in a fun, relaxed learning environment.

The cost to participate is $35 per child. To register and for more information, call the Recreation Center at 401-433-6360.
