Rhode Island Sen. Jack Reed tours East Providence Fire Station 4 and meets with city officials.
Rhode Island Sen. Jack Reed stopped by East Providence today, July 29, to meet with city officials and to tour the renovation of Fire Station 4 on Wampanoag Trail.
Sen. Reed played a key role in East Providence receiving $6.1 million in federal grants to renovate Station 4 and Station 1 on Broadway.
Capt. David Rave, Station 4 chief, led the tour of the new building. Acting East Providence Fire Chief Oscar Elmasian and the Station 4 building committee accompanied the Senator along with Mayor James Briden, Assistant Mayor Thomas Rose and City Manager Peter Graczykowski.
Rave pointed out, in particular, the fire pole in the building that dates back to the 1920s.
