Stabbed Over A Woman: East Providence Police
Police arrested a suspect on Evergreen Drive on Thursday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A stabbing victim is in stable condition at Rhode Island Hospital, and his alleged attacker is in custody, East Providence Police say. Kermit Fleming, 48, of East Providence, is accused of cutting another man on Thursday around 5:30 p.m. on Evergreen Drive. He is being charged with assault with the intent to murder.
Police said 911 callers alerted them to a possible stabbing. Officers found the victim outside with "multiple stab wounds to his torso." He was able to identify Fleming, who had fled. He was found on Evergreen Drive and arrested. Police allege an argument over a woman led to the stabbing.
