Stick Up At The Honeydew: Newport Avenue

East Providence police are asking the public's help finding a suspect who robbed the coffee shop at knife point Wednesday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence police are asking the public's help finding a suspect who robbed the coffee shop at knife point Wednesday. According to Lt. Raymond Blinn, the robbery happened around 7 a.m. in the store at 100 Newport Ave. The suspect, wearing a blue ski mask, is described as a stocky man between 5'7" and 5'9", with acne on his cheeks. He spoke with a heavy accent and told the employees to give him all the cash in the register. He took the money and left. No one in the store was hurt.

Another suspect was waiting in a getaway car. That car, a silver 2006 Mercury Milan, was stolen on Tuesday in Central Falls. The plates are Rhode Island registration AT-482. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 435-7600.
