Tree Mashes Trailer, Subcompact Car
Tree on Silver Street in Riverside crushed trailer, subcompact car on Wednesday afternoon, July 10.
Mother Nature did a job on a trailer and a small subcompact car parked at 11 Silver St. in Riverside early Wednesday afternoon, July 10.
There were no injuries.
The exact cause of the tree tumbling down is unknown, according to Acting East Providence Fire Marshal James Bellamy. But it did appear to be diseased. There was no strong wind reported at the time, about 1 pm.

Both the trailer and the car appeared to be total losses. The trailer reportedly was being used as an additional residence on the property.
The tree blocked nearby Main Street for a while until workers from the East Providence public works department cut up the tree and cleared the streets of debris.
