• Hopkinton approves $18K HVAC upgrade for police station (thewesterlysun.com) — Hopkinton’s Town Council has unanimously approved spending $18,441 in state grant funds to upgrade the HVAC system in the police station’s critical IT room, protecting vital equipment from overheating. After abandoning a more expensive plan for the historic Thayer House, officials chose a higher-capacity unit that provides both heating and cooling, with the project fully covered by a Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources grant.

How it will be used (providencejournal.com) — South County Habitat for Humanity just received a $200,000 gift from Bank of America, strengthening its work building affordable homes in Washington County, including Hopkinton. Leaders say the unrestricted funds will support new construction, staff training, and equipment, building on recent projects like a seven-home, zero-energy development in Hopkinton that leaves families with no utility bills.
