Driver Dies in I-295 Crash
A man driving an SUV struck a deer and was ejected from his SUV in the Friday morning rollover.

JOHNSTON, RI—A man died after his SUV rolled over on Interstate 295 in Johnston Friday morning, the state police said.
The crash happened at around 5 a.m. after the driver struck a deer on the highway.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and police did not identify him pending family notification.

Police said the vehicle rolled over several times before coming to a rest in the southbound lanes of the highway. The victim was ejected from the vehicle.
