RI Resident Injured in Boston Bombing
A Newport resident has sustained significant injuries from the Boston marathon bombing Monday.

A Newport woman was injured in the Boston marathon bombing on Monday afternoon, as first reported by The Newport Buzz. According to witnesses, she sustained significant injuries to her leg, but they did not appear life threatening. Her name is not being released until family members have been contacted. Β Β
Police say two are dead and more than 130 are injured in the Boston blasts. During the incident, former Newport resident Meshelle Chabot texted Patch, "There is a second bomb right in front of us, waiting on the bomb squad. Not leaving, if they are terrorists and they are still around, they will be shooting."Β
