Dead Dog Found In Trash Bag In Lincoln

Lincoln police say the dog had "visible signs of trauma and appeared to be severely emaciated."

LINCOLN, RI — Lincoln police have asked for the public's help finding the person responsible for leaving a dead dog in a trash bag over the weekend.

Police said they were called to Barney's Pond off Smithfield Avenue on Saturday after someone reported finding the dead dog in the parking lot. According to police, the dog had "visible signs of trauma and appeared to be severely emaciated."

Police believe the dog's body was left in the parking lot sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Officers identified a vehicle of interest in the investigation. Police described the vehicle as a white Toyota RAV4.
