Car Vandalized at Newport Creamery

The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Around 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, a woman called police to report that her car windows had been smashed while parked at the Newport Creamery on West Main Road.  When police arrived, the victim said the incident had happened within the last ten minutes and her pink and black ski jacket and cigarettes had been stolen from the car.

Police found the suspect, later identified as Ramondo Howard, 38, of 119 Park Holm, walking onto Hillside Avenue, carrying the ski jacket. Police also found cigarettes that matched the quantity the victim said had been taken from the car.

There were no witnesses to larceny or vandalism of the car.   Howard was charged with receiving stolen goods, a misdemeanor.
