Credit Card Fraudster Captured: Cops
The wanted Newport man was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — A Newport man wanted on a credit card fraud charge was captured by the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.
Alex Briggs, 29, was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him fraudulent use of credit card, the state police said in a media release.
That warrant was from the Middletown Police Department, the release said. Briggs was also arrested on a warrant from the Jamestown Police Department charging him with obstruction, according to the release.

"Mr. Briggs was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Middletown Police Department on scene," the release said.
