Deadline For Beach Sticker Competition This Week

The Middletown Committee for the Arts invites all Middletown residents to submit drawings for our Town`s 2013 Beach Sticker Competition. ln this first annual competition, submitters are asked to use their extraordinary talents to create a scene or image representative Middletown’s amazing natural beauty.

Themes: There are three different themes to choose from:

• Summer at 2nd Beach
• Summer at 3rd Beach
• Middletown the Beautiful

Remember to be creative and have fun, as there are many possible solutions.
The actual beach stickers are small, no bigger than three inches in any direction, so please keep this in mind

As you consider ideas:

Criteria: The current beach passes are represented with three different geometric shapes: a square, a circle and a triangle. To accommodate the various shapes, ali designs must fit within a square format and be no larger than 5 in by 5 in, and no smaller than 3 in x 3 in. You may choose to use as much or as little of the "square area" that you see fit. All submissions must be hand drawn, using black and white media. Pencil, marker, ink. and other water-based media are fine.

Charcoal or pastel must be sprayed with fixative and covered with a
protective layer.

Final designs will be re-sized as necessary to fit within each sticiker‘s forrnat. The date, number and text that are located on each sticker will be placed by the Town, therefore subrnitters should only focus on the design of the image and or scene.

Eligibility: You must be a Middletown Resident and there are no age requirements. Only one submission per person.

Submissions: Contest begins on September l ,20l2, and ends on December l,20l2.

All submissions must be placed in a sealed envelope and delivered in person or mailed to:

Notification of Winners: Winners will be notified in early January, 2013.

Prizes: Prize winners will receive a free beach sticker.
