Eight Middletown Police Officers Honored

In a ceremony held last night, eight Middletown police officers were honored in their promotions, graduation and retirement.

"We aren't perfect, we are like a family." - Chief Anthony Pesare of the Middletown Police Department.

Last night, Middletown honored eight members of the police department during an awards ceremony held at the Middletown Town Hall.   Chief Pesare confessed that while the department is not perfect, they come together when it matters the most - analogous to a family unit.

Pesare cited the potentially dangerous situation when a Middletown man doused himself with gasoline and threatened to start himself on fire earlier this month.  A brief standoff with police was quickly diffused, an accomplishment Pesare credited to skilled police work and efficient coordination with other departments.
