Fisherman ID'd After Body Found On Shoreline In Middletown: Reports

MIDDLETOWN, RI — The missing fisherman whose body was recovered from the shoreline on the border of Middletown and Portsmouth Monday evening has been identified, according to multiple reports.

The body of Leonidas Gonzalez, 65, of Marlborough, Massachusett, was pulled from the water in a rocky area near Pebble Beach around 6:15 p.m., WPRI reported.

Gonzalez frequently fished in the area and had been fishing for several hours earlier in the day, according to both WPRI and ABC6, which cited police. He was last seen walking on the rocks around 11:30 a.m., the outlets reported.
