4 Inches Predicted For RI Coast: National Weather Service

One to three inches predicted for Rhode Island has turned into 4 inches for the south coast. The snow is supposed to stop by tonight.

Snow has been falling across Rhode Island on Monday morning. The coast is expected to see the highest accumulations, with 4 inches possible. According to the National Weather Service, the entire state is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook. A winter weather advisory (for Kent, Washington, Bristol and Newport counties) is also in effect until 2 p.m.

Early springtime snowfall is expected this morning across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast before pushing into New England by this afternoon. The upper level disturbance associated with this system will push out into the Atlantic by this evening. All precipitation will come to an end by tonight. Winter weather advisories are in effect for the northern and western portions of the Mid-Atlantic northward into southern New England.
