Five Rhode Island hospitals were among a list of 700 nationwide recognized in Newsweek's rankings.

RHODE ISLAND — Five hospitals have been ranked the best in Rhode Island in a new report from Newsweek.
Rhode Island Hospital in Providence is the top-ranked hospital in Rhode Island in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:
- The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
- Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
- Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
