5 THINGS: Hey, It (Momentarily) Stopped Raining!

Your rain update, plus other things, in today's Five Things.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Tuesday, June 26, 2012:

Oh Weather, you’re so crazy. In contrast to yesterday, when it wouldn’t stop raining, or last week, when rain was but a dirty word, today the weather seems more normalish. Expect highs in the 70s, with a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Rain is expected again Wednesday, before temperatures rise back into the 80s for Thursday through the weekend.

Cruising but not for bruisings. It is at the South County Commons, starting at 5 p.m. This refers to classic cars, and not those trips Kathie Lee used to hawk. Check out classic cars, live music and food.

It’s bocce season at the Center! Curling is for freaks on ice, croquet is for the snobby Judge Smails, and horseshoes are for hicks, so please focus on the true sport of kings, bocce. The of the Center meets every Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Free (awesome) movie! Maury Loontjens Memorial Library in Narragansett will be showing The Artist at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. today. Pat reviewed the film for us in the past – read his (glowing) review .

Goaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll (part two). Girls’ premier soccer tryouts are 5 p.m. at the University of Rhode Island. Click for more info. The tryout fee is $20. This was rescheduled from Monday because of rain.

The business of government business. Both the South Kingstown and the meet at 7 p.m. tonight.

Huzzah, presents! On this day in 1870, Christmas was declared a federal holiday. I’m sure it’s still the absolute same today as it was back then.

She would not appreciate this greeting at all. Happy 28th birthday to Aubrey Plaza, the drier than dry office worker on Parks and Recreation.
