Fire Extinguished at Fred Smith Dodge
Solid information isn't yet available on the early Wednesday fire that has consumed more than 10 cars, according to scanner reports.
12:30 a.m. – According to reports, Old Tower Hill Road is closed in both directions as of about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday as firefighters work to contain fires to about 11 cars at Fred Smith Dodge.
The first report of the fires came in at about midnight. According to reports of scanner activity between various departments, the number of cars involved escalated from an initial one to three to nine to 11. A feeder line was setup across both lanes, but according to reports, chiefs at the scene were requesting high expansion foam and having issues with water supply.
The state fire marshal and the Union Fire District marshal have both been called to the scene.

According to Google Maps, the dealership is next to Speedcraft Volkswagen and a gas station, and across the street from Kabuki.
12:45 a.m. – According to Coventry Patch editor Lauren Costa, the fires seem to be extinguished at this point, but access to the fire scene is currently blocked. The road is still closed from the Bank of America to Kabuki, with cars diverted.

According to online property records, 84 Old Tower Hill Road is owned by Fred Smith, Inc. as of September 1995. The building and land was last valued at $1.29 million, with $1.01 million of the value coming from the land.
A Narragansett resident told Patch that she was able to smell the flames all the way out at the Dunes Club.
Note: Due to the late time of the incident, it's unlikely that any information will be released until Wednesday afternoon, but we will check in at the scene just in case.
