CTC Presents “Paradise Park” at Towers

A roller coaster of fun arrives at the Towers in late February and early March!

A ticket to this amusement park entitles you to one adventurous ride at The Towers of Narragansett. In February, the Contemporary Theater Company opens Paradise Park, a humorous and heartfelt look at 21st century American life.

In this fantastical modern tale by Charles Mee, a bumbling ship captain guides the audience through a topsy-turvy playground of bright lights, bumper cars and magic mirrors, where nothing is as it seems.

“Just like a real amusement park, this play offers something for everyone,” said Meghan Rose Donnelly, who directs the production. “We mix wit, adventure and drama to produce a collage of America like you’ve never seen before.”

On this whimsical adventure, share in the stories of a ventriloquist obsessed with his two bickering dummies, a man relentlessly pursuing the woman of his dreams and a dysfunctional family struggling to stick together. Journey to iconic destinations, including the Grand Canyon, the New Jersey Turnpike and Narragansett Beach. Experience the beauty and folly of chasing love and triumphing over the anxieties of contemporary America.

“Come take a ride with us, but it don’t wander off,” Donnelly said. “In a place as big and exciting as Paradise Park, you’re liable to get lost!”
