NARRAGANSETT, RI — The United States Geological Survey recorded an earthquake in Rhode Island Thursday night.
The 1.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded about 3 miles east-southeast of Narragansett shortly after 11:30 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Even if you were awake at that hour and in proximity to the earthquake's spot, you might have missed it. Earthquakes of 2.5 magnitude or less are "Usually not felt, but can be recorded by seismograph," according to Michigan Technological University.
