E-ZPass Offline During Computer Upgrade
Commuters should be advised that all E-ZPass accounts will be inaccessible June 21-24.

The E-ZPass office will be closed on June 21 and June 22 as the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority upgrades its computer system.
From 6 p.m. EST on June 20 through 8 a.m. on June 24, E-ZPass customers will not have access to their accounts, and no new accounts will be opened. No E-ZPass transponder purchases can be made online or by telephone on those days.

Sales will resume on June 24. Office hours at East Shore Road in Jamestown are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For a limited time, the cost of E-ZPass transponders will be $10, discounted from the usual price of $20.95. In addition, RITBA will give a $10 credit to new E-ZPass accounts. The new E-ZPass accounts will begin with a $35 balance (i.e., the $10 transponder credit and a $25 minimum deposit in the account). With a credit card number on file, the account will be automatically replenished when the balance is low, ensuring that the lowest R.I. toll is always charged.

Drivers do not have to be R.I. residents in order to purchase the RI transponder to qualify for the R.I. E-ZPass discount. The $10 credit will be applied once to the account regardless of the number of transponders linked to that account.
Transponders can also be purchased at AAA Southern New England branches in Rhode Island, Somerset and South Attleboro. AAA only accepts credit card payments.
