Find Felix A Forever Home
The Animal Rescue League is offering a $50 prize to find a home for their most illustrious guest.
Felix was surrendered to the Animal Rescue League on June 13, 2009. That's two years ago!!
He came to the ARL shelter because his owner could no longer afford his care, and staffers quickly discovered that Felix had a lower back injury from some type of blunt trauma, such as being hit by a car. This had caused some permanent nerve damage.
The vet said he would be fine with just a daily dose of a very inexpensive medication to help keep his "plumbing" working properly. Everyday, the staff mixes a little in with a small amount of wet food and Felix is good to go, so to speak!

The only visible sign of his injury is that Felix does not hold his tail up the way other cats do. This little guy has full mobility and loves to jump, chase toys, climb and run around the shelter like a crazy man! He is a joy to watch and spend time with. Felix also has an affectionate side and loves to be pet and to just hang out.
Felix does, however, like to be the boss, and would prefer to be the only feline family member. He would probably be fine with a older, more laid back dog. Because of his injury, he would need to avoid young children or high energy dogs that could unintentially cause further damge by playing a little too rough.

The animal Rescue League desperately needs to find Felix the loving forever home he so deserves. Can you help them? They have a new contest starting to see who can be the first person to find Felix a new family. The first to help get Felix adopted (or to adopt him themselves!) will receive a $50 South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce gift certificate.
Summer is here and the gift certificate will come in handy at so many of the wonderful shops and restaurants in town. Please do all you can to help find this wonderful cat a new home!
You can visit Felix at our shelter located at 506B Curtis Corner Road in Wakefield. He has the place of honor in the front lobby! You can also call 783-7606 for more information about Felix, the contest or the many other wonderful animals waiting for new families at the ARLSRI.
