Gov't Shutdown Delays Wind Power Project Meetings
The meetings, intended to collect public comment on a New England wind farm, will be postponed until the government reopens for business.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — A federal meeting planned in Narragansett concerning proposed wind farms off New England's coast has been postponed indefinitely, reports say. Another such meeting planned in New Bedford, Massachusetts, was also postponed.
The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, who were planned to run the meetings, were going to hear and collect public comment on the environmental impact statement.
The project, called Vineyard Wind, would boost energy production by 800 megawatts, the AP reported. About 100 turbines would be set up south of Martha's Vineyard if the project is approved.

Additional meetings in Hyannis, Nantucket and Vineyard Haven will be postponed, the AP reports say, if the shutdown lasts past Jan. 14.
