Hydrant Flushing Underway In South Kingstown

Residents may experience low water pressure or discoloration while flushing is underway.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The town of South Kingstown is flushing hydrants, which may cause some disruptions for residents. Flushing is scheduled to be completed by the end of next week.

Flushing started Monday and is set to be finished by Nov. 5, conducted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. While underway, residents may experience rusty water or low water pressure. If discoloration occurs, run cold water until it is clear.

Flushing is conducted a few times per year to remove sediment and organic material from the water main, and to make sure hydrants are working properly.
