Man Hurt in Crash on URI Campus
The man, 64, was transported to the hospital after he struck light poles and a stone wall.

A 64-year-old man was seriously hurt after a crash on the University of Rhode Island campus on Saturday.
URI police identified the driver as Barry Blomstedt and said that he struck two light poles and a stone wall along Butterfield Road shortly after 9 p.m.
Campus EMS, South Kingstown EMS and members of the Kingston Fire Department responded to the scene and Blomsted was taken to South County Hospital and later transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

Police are investigating and there was no official word on Blomstedt’s condition early Monday.
