Narragansett Delays Short-term and Summer-Only Rentals After Court Ruling
Court issues a temporary restraining order on the implementation of the short-term rental ordinance.

Dear Landlord(s),
Since the Court issued a temporary restraining order on the implementation of the short-term rental ordinance, the Town has delayed the registration of both short-term and summer only rentals. With an unknown date on the resolution of that litigation, the Town is requiring those properties to register under the current ordinance Section 14-518 to 14-520- No dwelling unit shall be permitted to be occupied by tenants until record owner has registered with the Building Inspector.

We will continue to notify you of any updates regarding the status of the litigation regarding the short-term ordinance. In the meantime, we ask that if you have not yet registered your rental please do so within the next 30 days. The Town will extend the registration period for those properties until Monday, February 24, 2025, and the fee of $120.00 per unit will be due by that deadline.
Please follow the link below and select “online rental registration.” You will then “renew” your existing registration.
